Northwest Tracking

Our Northwest Tracking programs showcase the work of independent filmmakers living and working in the Northwest—Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington—whose work reflects the vibrant cinematic culture of the region. Whether presenting single artist retrospectives, new features, documentaries, or inspired collections of short works, Northwest Tracking offers testimony to the creativity and talent in our flourishing media arts community.

Northwest Tracking is supported in part by the Oregon Cultural Trust

Submission
The best way for your work to be considered for our Northwest Tracking series is to enter it in the Northwest Filmmakers' Festival. All Festival submissions will automatically be considered for NW Tracking.

If you prefer not to be considered for the Festival, you can send a sample DVD and letter with contact information to:

Press Relations
If your work is selected for presentation, the Film Center will handle all publicity, advertising, and press screenings. We welcome the filmmaker’s involvement in developing strategies, mailing lists, and co-sponsorships. All publicity, advertising, and print materials must have the pre-approval of our Publicty & Promotions Manager Nick Bruno: nick@nwfilm.org.

Promotional Materials
We require high-resolution stills from your work (photographs or 300 DPI digital files), a preview tape of the work, and biographical information. If you are interested in producing posters/flyers/postcards for your event, they must identify the Northwest Film Center as the presenter, include the NWFC logo and Web site: www.nwfilm.org, and be approved in advance by the PR Manager.

Honoraria
The Film Center shares box-office receipts with the filmmaker 50/50. The Film Center cannot hold benefit screenings for other organizations or to raise funds for unfinished productions. We must have a mailing address and a completed W-9 form in order for you to receive payment.

Equipment
The Northwest Film Center is equipped to project 35mm and 16mm film, VHS, DVD, DigiBeta, Beta SP, DV Cam, or Mini-DV video formats. HD projection is available on BluRay, DCP, or from a .mov file.
