The Northwest Film Center welcomes all visitors to participate in our exhibition programs and experience our classes and workshops. The Museum offers a variety of services to ensure that every visitor has an equal opportunity to engage with the art on view.
The Whitsell Auditorium can be accessed through the Portland Art Museum’s Sculpture Court via the Hoffman Entrance, the admission desk will be in front of you to your left.
Throughout the Portland Art Museum, where the Whitsell Auditorium is located, Security Officers, Guest Services Associates, NWFC Staff and Volunteers are available to answer any questions you may have about your visit.
Service animals are welcome in the Museum and Northwest Film Center.
For Visitors with Limited Mobility
The Museum is located in downtown Portland at 1219 SW Park Avenue. For access to the Whitsell Auditorium, the Hoffman entrance, adjacent to the Sculpture Mall on the north side of the Museum, is fully accessible via a ramp. Wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis at the box office just inside this entrance. For access to the Museum's event spaces, the Mark Building's entrance is accessible via a ramp that begins in the adjacent Sculpture Court. Wheelchair-accessible seating is available in the Whitsell Auditorium and other event spaces.
Aides receive free admission.
In addition to metered street parking, City Center Parking manages the parking lot adjacent to the Museum at the corner of SW Park Avenue and Main Street. They can be reached at 503-221-1666, ext. 9 for further questions. This lot is located on a slight hill and is 0.1 miles away from the Hoffman lobby entrance. Persons with a Disabled Person Parking Placard may park at one or two hour meters for up to 3 hours and in 3 hour spaces for up to 11 hours. Public transportation to the museum is available through TriMet’s network of fully accessible bus and Max lines. The Museum entrance is located
· 300 feet from the Art Museum stop on the NS and A Loop Streetcar Lines
· 0.1 miles from the NS and B Loop Streetcar Lines stop at SW 11th and Jefferson
· Approximately 500 feet from the 10th and Jefferson bus stop which serves lines 6, 38, 45, 55, 58, 68, 92, and 96.

TriMet also offers the LIFT service (link: http://www.trimet.org/lift/liftguide.htm) for eligible people with disabilities who are unable to use the existing bus and light rail services.
All museum galleries and event spaces are accessible via elevator. Please ask a Guest Services Associate to point out elevator locations on the Museum map when you arrive.
Restrooms are located in the Belluschi building on the LL, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. All restrooms are wheelchair accessible. All restrooms in the Mark Buildings event spaces are wheelchair accessible.
For Visitors who are Deaf
NWFC provides t-coil compatible FM assistive listening devices for tours and public program free of charge upon request. We also offer neck loops for visitors who wear hearing aides. To ensure that a device is on hand for your use, please email a request to email@example.com. Sign Language Interpreters are also available free of charge if requested by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org two to three weeks in advance.
